Choosing Hand Pallet Trucks
Choosing Hand Pallet Trucks
A hand pallet truck—often referred to as a manual pallet mover, pallet jack, or pump truck—is a straightforward solution for transporting palletized goods easily and efficiently.
When selecting your manual pallet truck, start by evaluating the weight of the loads you'll be moving. Our standard AM20 hand pallet truck comfortably accommodates loads weighing up to 2,000kg, which typically represents the upper limit for manual operation. If your goods occasionally exceed this threshold, consider our AM22 model, capable of handling loads up to 2,200kg. However, when regularly managing heavier pallets, transitioning to an electric pallet truck is advisable for safer and smoother operations.
Another critical factor is the size and dimensions of the forks. The most common fork size purchased from Jungheinrich Singapore measures 1150mm in length and 540mm across the width, perfectly suited for handling Euro pallets. Should your operation involve industry-standard pallets, a shorter fork length of 1054mm, maintaining the 540mm width, is recommended.
Lastly, consider the ideal wheel and roller configuration for your pallet truck. Steering wheel options include polyurethane, nylon, or rubber materials, while fork rollers are typically offered in either nylon or polyurethane, with configurations available in single or tandem formats. Our top-selling AM20 model features polyurethane steering wheels paired with polyurethane tandem fork rollers, delivering optimal durability and smooth maneuverability.
